How to Incorporate Magick into Everyday Life

Chances are, if you’re reading this post magick holds meaning for you, and you will know that there is an abundance of ways to incorporate magick into one’s life. Magick is a very personal thing. I urge you to follow these suggestions with that in mind and do what feels comfortable and comes naturally to you. Magick is always best practised from a place of inner calm and gratitude.

Tea Wishes

Let’s start with something as easy as stirring a cup of tea because it really is that simple! The best time of day to incorporate a little tea (or coffee) magick is in the morning. It helps to get you into a positive state of mind ready to conquer anything the day throws at you. Herbal teas are perfect for this as they provide additional healing and magickal properties. Especially if the herbs have been grown, harvested and dried by hand using your own energy.

Firstly, and most importantly take a few minutes to think about how you want your day to pan out whilst you prepare your tea. Then stir your wishes or positive intentions into the tea with a spoon clockwise, really concentrate and focus that energy into the tea, and drink. These positive intentions will infuse into the drink and manifest your wishes.


This method can be equally useful for releasing negativity or anxiety, the only difference is that you must stir anticlockwise with a spoon and imagine the negativity fading away with every circle stirred.

Candle Magick

Being in a candle lit room changes our energetic state, as the natural energy emitted from the flame attracts spiritual energy. Fire is both used for attracting new and positive energy and banishing negative energies, bad habits or anxieties.

To attract your wishes and positive intentions, write them on a piece of paper or a dried bay leaf and burn it above the candle flame (carefully and safely), burning is a way of sealing the magick, sending your wishes into the ethereal realm.

This method is equally useful for banishing, the fire symbolically consumes what you want to eliminate such as a bad habit or anxiety. Again, write your worries onto a piece of paper or a dried bay leaf and burn it above the candle flame. The paper is transformed by the fire into a new state and your worries are removed from this realm into the ethereal world.

Crystal Healing

Every crystal is believed to have its own unique magickal healing properties. Citrine for example clears negative energy and Jade attracts luck and prosperity. Charge your crystals with positive intentions by holding them inside your palms. Close your eyes, still your mind and focus on your crystal. Describe aloud the energy you want your crystal to possess such as love, healing or protection.


Repeat your intentions until you feel the desired energy has connected with your crystal and carry it with you whenever you need its energy.

Tarot Guidance

Tarot is a divination tool that is widely used to seek answers when you feel lost, concerned about life choices or seek a greater understanding of your circumstances. Tarot is made up of 78 cards, each card is different with its own imagery and symbolism. 22 cards make up the Major Arcana which represent karmic and spiritual lessons in our lives. The other 56 cards make up the Minor Arcana, these cards represent the trials and tribulations that we experience in our daily lives.

Tarot is a great tool for self-development and can consciously or subconsciously help us to identify our needs and desires in life. It’s great to practice meditation every day even if it’s only for a few minutes at a time, benefits include calming, creativity, sharpness of the mind and increased intuition. It’s important to align with your intuition and trust your gut as it helps to deepen the connection and accessibility of your subconscious mind, for here is where all the knowledge and answers about ourselves are kept.


Affirmations are a powerful tool for developing your intuition and psychic ability. An affirmation is essentially anything you say or think. Often our thoughts and words can be negative. When said repeatedly combined with the beliefs we held as children our subconscious mind believes them to be true, and those beliefs manifest themselves in our daily lives.


Regularly practising positive affirmations during meditation such as “I am intuitive” or “I am listening to my intuitive self” will help you to connect with your inner vision, psychic ability and intuition thus creating a more positive and harmonious life.

Ritual Baths

A warm bubble bath is a great way to relax and wash away the stresses of the day. Water is cleansing, healing and purifying, it is also the element of emotion and the subconscious. With this in mind a bath can be a very healing and enlightening experience. Perhaps you want to use this time to release any negative thinking or draw new inspirational ideas from your subconscious? To incorporate a little magick to your bath add candles. The colour of the candle will influence the energy it brings, for example black absorbs and banishes negativity whilst promoting inner strength and self-control.


Crystals are both beautiful and soothing to look at, but they also contain properties and energies that can be used for healing. Amethyst is particularly wonderful for bathing as it’s a natural stress reliever. It’s perfect for providing clarity during meditation. Placing the Amethyst near or on top of your head will help to dispel your negative thoughts by connecting to your crown chakra. Use whichever crystals you are drawn to because the properties and energies those crystals possess are likely to be exactly what you need in your life at that time.

Magick Infused Food

Much like infusing our wishes and intentions into tea, stirring positive intentions into the food we prepare produces equally magickal results. Choose something tasty to prepare. I suggest something that conjures a feeling similar to what you wish to manifest. For example, cake might make you feel happy, excited or abundant, therefore your wish may be to have a day filled with happiness.


Before you begin cooking, hold the ingredients you are going to use and visualise your wishes, this will charge it with your energies. As you prepare your food hold onto that visualisation, you may also wish to speak out loud your intentions to help you to stay focused. When your food is ready, eat to seal its magick.

Connect with Nature

You needn’t go any further than your back garden or the nearest green space to receive the magickal benefits of the Earths healing properties. The Earth naturally contains a subtle electric charge that we can receive through our bare feet, this is why walking bare foot on the grass helps to ground us and sooth our souls.

We can also employ the four elements, Earth, Air, Fire and Water to create a feeling of magick and wonder in our lives. The Earth element represents grounding, stability and earthly pleasures. Air represents knowledge and communication. Fire represents passion, energy and enthusiasm. Water represents emotions, the subconscious mind and intuition.

Utilise the four elements to balance your own energy, for example if you lean towards the fire element you may find that bringing some Earth energy into your life will help you to realistically set and achieve your goals. To help with this you might wear green or brown clothing and keep an Earth element symbol or an object that represents Earth close to you.

Moon Gazing

Isn’t it already a wonder that millions of miles away our Moon can illuminate the nights sky? In the same way the Moon can illuminate our unconscious desires and fears, particularly when the Moon is in its most powerful phases, new and full.

A Full Moon is the most powerful phase of the lunar cycle. It’s the perfect time to meditate on a question from which you wish to receive an answer as this is a time of increased psychic ability. When the Moon starts decreasing in size (waning) it’s a good time to start releasing or letting go of negativity, bad habits or ending a relationship as the energies support this.

A New Moon promotes new beginnings. It’s the perfect time to start new endeavours, new relationships, seek new career opportunities or for making any other positive changes. Anything started during the waxing (growing) phase of the moon is more likely to be successful and long lasting.
